The LOOK T4, 22 mm long and 1/2 circle curvature taper point needles are designed for consistent performance. LOOK™ needle performance is an output of its design. Materials, geometry, and coatings work together to produce a high performance surgical instrument. Taper point needles have a round shaft, curved body with a taper point and no cutting edge and are used for soft tissue closure such as fascia, vascular, gastrointestinal, and most soft tissue below the skin.
LOOK™ 589B Chromic Gut Suture with T4 TP Needle Utilization
Surgical Specialties LOOK brand of sterile Chromic Gut Absorbable Suture is manufactured by twisting strands of purified connective tissue (collagen) derived from either the serosal layer of beef or the submucosal fibrous layer of sheep intestines resulting in an extremely high initial tensile strength. The natural twisted thread is precision ground and polished to a uniform diameter in order to achieve a monofilament characteristic and treated with a glycerol containing solution for enhanced and standardized passage thru tissue while permitting smooth and secure knotting. It is then treated with chromic salts to slow absorption as compared to plain gut sutures. Comparable to Ethicon Chromic Surgical Gut Suture and Syneture Chromic Gut Suture.
Indicated use includes in general soft tissue approximation and / or ligation when suture absorption levels are indicated: General Closure, Dental, Gastrointestinal, OB/GYN, Vascular and Urology
Chromic Gut Suture Mass Absorption: Varies upon site of placement and suture size: usually degradation within 8 days and absorption within 12 days.
